Just as you think it's going great, it kicks you in the nuts.
Just when you think you are cruising along...you lose a ball from the middle of the fairway.
Likewise you think you are down and out...and you hole one from the fairway!
I played with the golf director at Clovelly, Hanko Bothma,and my daughter. His index is 3 and She plays of +1.9.
Clovelly is in fantastic condition. Fairways, T's and greens are great at the moment.
Its a must play course if you are visiting or living in Cape Town!
My round started great with two birdies. It went pear shaped two holes later with a lost ball and a double.
A solid par was followed by a chip in for a birdie. Just to make another double the next hole!! Aaarghh!
I turned 1 over. Then the carnage started. Drop, Drop, Double, Drop to start the next 9. And I'm ready to throw my clubs in the water.
I then make birdie,par,par, another chip in for birdie and finished with a par on the stroke 1 par 5 9th.
76 of a 4 handicap with 5 birdies (two chip ins on par 3's) and 3 double drops! Talk about up and downs!
To get better, I need to minimise those 2 or 3 stupid holes in my round.
