Bellville Golf Club has been a favourite in the Northern suburbs for the last 50+ years.
I've played the course on numerous occasions . What always stands out is that their greens are always good.
You either love or hate Bellville. Mostly because of the way the fairways slope to the low points on the course.
The greens were dusted. So a little bouncy. But still rolled at a good speed.
The fairways are drying up as they wait for the winter rains. It means you will get some roll. So always aim on the high side! Especially on 11, 14 and 17.
There are some nice holes on the course.
Some really strong Par 4's. Interesting Par 5's. And testy par 3's.
The 12th par 3 is a stunning hole. You have to carry water to a slopy green with a bunker on the right.
When the wind blows it requires a great shot.
9 is also a great risk reward hole.
It's not a long course. But requires you to hit the ball straight. And also to know where to hit the ball to hit certain fairways.
Hitting the middle of the fairway is sometimes not the best strategy.
It's one you have to tick of your list.
Their rates are great. And you can easily find a game there.
See you on the fairways.
